Peter Gisolfi Associates is a partnership of architects, landscape architects, and interior architects located in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York with a secondary office in New Haven, Connecticut. Our firm has been providing design and planning services to public and private clients since 1976. We currently employ 45 people. We offer our clients integrated design services. We combine the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and interior architecture in the development and implementation of designs. We are able to undertake a project from site selection and analysis through occupancy. Our knowledge of the complete process enables us to handle any phase of the design work. We develop solutions that are compatible with their natural and man-made settings. This may include examining historic precedents so as to fully understand the building type or the architectural environment; carefully analyzing the local climate so as to design energy-efficient buildings; or fully understanding the ecosystem of a particular site. We have received acclaim for restorations and adaptive reuse of old buildings that maintain the spirit and ambiance of those buildings. We pride ourselves in designing interior spaces and additions that reflect the traditions of older buildings and academic institutions while adapting to modern requirements. The primary function of architecture is to make spaces. Our approach to design is based on the integration of buildings with sites to create clearly defined and harmonious indoor and outdoor spaces. Our primary concern is to develop concepts and images that are responsive to the requirements and aspirations of our clients within the realistic constraints imposed by schedule and budget. Our energetic and diverse staff has an impressive list of academic and professional credentials including degrees in architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture, urban design, and construction management. Our projects include academic buildings and libraries, hotels and restaurants, commercial buildings and office spaces, municipal buildings, housing complexes, houses and gardens, parks and recreational facilities, urban spaces, campus plans, and master plans for a variety of institutions. |
