The building’s 85 foot-high masonry base respects and reinforces the public nature of the street.  An interconnected, multi-story lobby welcomes students, staff, and visitors and leads them to the School’s most communal spaces—the competition gymnasium and fitness center, a 400-seat auditorium, the cafeteria and the library. A gleaming glass tower, rising 125 feet above the masonry base, houses the academic and collaborative spaces that reflect the vision and mission of Trevor Day.  Classrooms are clustered around common study areas where students and staff meet and mingle informally throughout the day.  The tower is outwardly transparent, with spectacular views of Manhattan to the north and south throughout the school.

The spaces within the tower were designed to maximize interior transparency and visibility, creating strong internal synergy.  The top floor of the building features a glass-walled practice gym and an outdoor play space on the roof overlooking the city.

The new Trevor Day School is a vertical campus on the Upper East Side in New York City.  The 210 ft tall building occupies a 100 ft x 100 ft site.  The masonry base of the building contains the school's main public spaces, including its competition gym, dining room, library, and a proscenium-style theatre.

The theatre has raked seating for 360.  Because the audience area is raked, the distance from the stage to the back of the space is relatively shallow.  This gives the audience excellent sightlines from all seats.  Additional spaces for the arts at Trevor include traditional and digital art rooms, rooms for music instruction and rehearsal, and a dance studio.

The new Trevor Day School is a vertical campus on the Upper East Side in New York City.  The 210 ft tall building occupies a 100 ft x 100 ft site.  The masonry base of the building contains the school's main public spaces, including its competition gym.  The gym's mezzanine doubles as a fitness area and a viewing space.

At the top of the glass tower which rises above the school's masonry base, there is an additional practice gym with magnificent views of the city.  There are also three outdoor spaces used for passive recreation:  one adjacent to the dining room, one adjacent to the library, and one at the roof above the practice gym.
