The center during an evening event
The new Berman Student Center was designed for interdisciplinary activity. This 33,000 sf building successfully integrates diverse spaces for the performing arts, the creative arts, student clubs, exercise and fitness.
The main lobby and student lounge on the main floor create an informal art gallery which is in constant use. A formal, secure art gallery adjacent to the lobby is used for scheduled exhibitions. The school's radio station is also located here. On the lower level, there are spaces for music rehearsal and communication, and a black box theatre with retractable seating for 130. It is used for dance, recitals, lectures and movies. The upper floor of the building features a dance studio and spaces for digital art.
